I'll try and make the updates more frequent as we move closer and closer to the completion of the building. If there are questions that you have, or if there are parts of the building you would like me to update, let me know.
The lights are on in the worship center! The ceiling is in, and the lights are one. Don't worry, the plastic bags you see hanging from the lights are just there to protect the lights during construction. They will be removed once the inside work is complete. The speakers are also hung!
Below: Tile work in the bathroom areas is also being done. This picture is the upstairs bathroom area.

I apologize for the LONG delay in getting up new information about the building process. Here are a few pictures to give you a quick update.
Above: Siding is now going up! Once the siding is complete, it will be painted. The outside of the building is beginning to look more "complete."
Above: Here you see the ceiling of the new sanctuary. The "cloud system" is currently being installed. These panels will make up the ceiling. The lights will also be in these "clouds." You will also notice that the ceiling has been painted black (much of which you will not see once the panels are in place.

Progress continues on the building. On the outside, the peeked roof has been shingled, the flat roof is basically complete. Inside work continues upstairs framing in the upstairs bathrooms, new plumbing has gone into the downstairs bathroom, framing in the windows in the sanctuary and fellowship hall, among other things.
We will try and get some updated pictures up on this blog soon. Again, if you have any questions, or would like to see pictures of any specific aspect of the new building, leave a comment or send an email to chris@stcroixalliance.com.
Thanks for stopping by!

The risers and stairs are now in and the stairs have been poured. The "structure" of the sanctuary seating is now in place. We will try to get a video up on the blog soon to give a better idea of what is taking place inside.
If you've driven by the church this week, you noticed that the building is being prepped for the siding and that the windows are now in. We should continue to see changes to the outside of the building over the next couple weeks.
Are there questions you have about the building progress? Any pictures you'd like to see? Leave a comment and we will do our best to answer questions or provide pictures of the parts of the building you would like to see.

The week construction crews are working on expanding the upper level floor. Spancrete has been put in place covering the old stairway as well as expanding out into the "gym" area infront of the new elevator. Pictures below.
Above: this is a picture from the fellowship hall looking at the new spancrete. On the right is the former stairway to the basement. Where you can see the sun coming in is the new elevator shaft and stairway.
Above: this is a picture of the spancrete in front of the new elevator. This expands over the former door into the gymnasium. The upper level floor space has increased significantly.
Above: this is a picture of the spancrete over the former stairway.
Above: this is a picture looking into the sanctuary looking at the steel riser structure. This is the beginning of the riser structure. More steel and spancrete will be brought in soon to create the riser "stadium seating" structure.
Please continue to pray for the construction work, as well as the workers. They will soon be working on bringing in the spancrete for the risers in the sanctuary. Pictures will follow.
